The Peipon Family arrived in Ukraine during the summer of 2001 with the goal of transforming the Ukrainian medical system through and for Christ.

Jim (Dr. James J. Peipon, center right) had trained as a pediatrician with subspecialty training in pediatric hematology and oncology, and was in private practice for nineteen years prior to moving to Kiev.

As the medical director of Ukraine Medical Outreach, he co-ordinates procurement of special medical needs, develops medical outreaches to patients and physicians through educational conferences, trips to villages, and bible studies with medical professionals. He is introducing a program to teach Ukrainian physicians how to share their faith with their patients. He also assists adoptive parents in assessing the health of potential adoptees.
Marianna (center), through networking, visits the abandoned babies’ ward of a local hospital, and is making inroads with the staff of the AIDS ward.  She hopes to become involved with an orphanage that is being renovated to house AIDS babies and young children.

Jamie (age 20, far left) is currently studying at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music in Kiev, with an emphasis on percussion. He is a percussionist with the government-sponsored Philharmonia Orchestra as well as a member of the Kyiv Youth Orchestra and Chorus.

Jeanne (age 22, far right) is actively involved with youth and young adult ministries within our church here.  She is a member of the Kyiv Youth Orchestra and Chorus, and teaches English in a private school.  She has applied to become a student of biblical counseling through our sister organization, Ukraine Family Institute, beginning in the fall of 2005.  She will be accredited as a biblical counselor both here and in the US at the end of 3 years.

Anna (age 22, not shown) is currently living in Asia.
